He is sired by the famous Leiknir from Vakurstöðum who was him self very successful on the track and his offsprings have also proved to be great there also. His mother Gæfa was one of a kind at her time won the Fjórðungsmót and got 9,5 for tölt and trot that was outstanding at that time. Grímur is great 4 gaiter with all gaits clear, equal and with has good speed range. He is very easy to handle in all way both around the stable and in riding. He does not have much stallion act in him and is very sweet and easy. Most of the times you can't feel that he is a stallion. He is safe to ride and very cooperative. His temperament is excellent, willing but calm and easy to handle. Grímur is well trained knows allot in dressage and inside training and takes everything well. It is fun to work with him and he is very positive and that kind of training suits him well. He knows how to form and is easy to help him into shape. He has natural high lifting movements on all gaits. His tölt is clear and with good speed, he has good balance both on slow and fast. Trot is one of his best, super speed range and suspension, gallop is excellent with good beat and high suspension. Walk is good and with long stripes. Grímur has been successful on the track hand has scored over 7,00 in 4 gait multiple times. He would also be well suited in tölt competition. He would be great teacher for a rider that wants to improve there riding. Grímur is still developing and could go higher with more training no question about that. He is a classic good 4 gaiter with lot charizma and good looks, and is always notice everywhere he goes or under a rider.
